In times of rapid change, we are confident that we can support the facilitation of new solutions. We want to work to increase cooperation between industries, countries and technologies, speed up, think differently and modernize. Dual use will require lots of cross-industry collaboration.

EDF support

The European Defense Fund (EDF) is the EU's major initiative aimed at strengthening Europe's defense capabilities. A total of EUR 8 billion is planned to be spent in 2022-2027 on projects promoting cross-border research and development. The aim is to create a new European defense cooperation both operationally and industrially in the long term.
EDF is an important and integral part of Sweden's future material procurement and a great opportunity for Swedish companies to finance R&D, create new collaborations and secure future business.

Radio technology

Traditional military radio technologies today suffer from high cost, slow market introduction and the use of technologies already obsolete when they are introduced.

Compared to traditional military radio technologies cellular technologies have several distinct advantages:

Higher performance, bandwidth up to 10Gbps
Higher capacity because of cellular structure
Cost benefits due to "economy of scale", the volume of radio equipment produced for mobile network technologies is significantly greater than has ever been produced before for traditional radio communication systems.
Faster and more advanced technical development, due to the economy that exists in the industry, so much more is invested in mobile phone technology than for traditional radio communication systems. Available development resources therefore are significantly larger due to economic viability.

Improvements in Radio technology

Modern cellular systems, like 5G are providing a generic bit-pipe with a high level of encryption where a wide variety of services can be provided including a high level of security and protection against jamming.
